Enjoy some time out to relax and reflect in the beautiful surroundings at Laskill Grange. In this one day retreat you will be able to connect and get new perspectives on life’s changes and learn how to quieten the mind and body to find balance. Laskill is truly a special venue, built on the grounds of an 11C Cistercian settlement and later a Quaker site. Just being here will soothe your soul as well as giving you practical guidance and tips to take away.
The theme of the day centres around mindfulness and living a life truly awake with a quieter mind. The hospitality aims to give nurture, exploration care and fun before leaving refreshed with a new sense of purpose.

WHY?
Retreat time addresses what seems to be a growing disquiet and need for those who want to find a more harmonious and fulfilling life at work and home. Sometimes, it may be that we need to physically detach, and have space and time to be away from things. There is no doubt that retreat is a really helpful and relaxing experience where you can gain perspective, take a look at what your life could be and work out how to achieve this. You will leave feeling refreshed, inspired and motivated with a clearer idea of the way forward.
WHAT?
My role at the retreat is to optimise your time and maximise your presence. So, how do I do this? I listen, listen in great depth. Listen to what may lie behind the words and stories unfolding as we explore further. I have an inbuilt curiosity about how others see things and, with the right questioning, the dialogue deepens and clarity emerges. From here we can begin to find new perspectives, leading to new options and changes to bring to life. Another useful feature is recognising the continual and often judgemental voice in our head. Learning to recognise the judgemental voice and how to “wake up” from it, experiencing life in the present, is achievable with help. Working together on retreat creates an atmosphere where we can be more available to one another, and in that space, it is often amazing what emerges and how creative we become.
WHERE?
Retreat is held at the Halcyon, Laskill Grange in the stunning landscape of Bilsdale, North Yorkshire amongst rolling hills and valleys. The hospitality is provided to give nurture, inquiry, care and fun, while the serene environment is bound to captivate you, before you leave refreshed and with new sense of purpose.
The one-day retreat will start at 9.30 am and finish at 4.30pm with regular breaks and fabulous hospitality with Mandy. We will be a small group and ensure we follow current Covid19 guidelines whilst enjoying a comfortable experience. I will be giving input to the group with opportunity for discussion and exploring subjects together. Weather permitting, we will also spend some time outdoors in the beautiful surroundings.
